The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is the world’s first phone with a Snapdragon 710 SoC and the most affordable version of the flagship cell phone of the year. The smartphone has a 5.88-inch Samsung AMOLED screen and it is the first smartphone that is powered by the new Snapdragon 710 processor with up to 2.2 GHz. It sports AI cameras, Galileo navigation, Infrared and 4G+ connectivity.
The Mi 8 SE features a Full HD+ display with 423 ppi and 81.3% Screen-to-body ratio. The resolution of the AMOLED display is 2244 x1080 pixel with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is super sharp and shows brilliant colors and is additionally protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is fueled by the new 64bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor with a clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. Qualcomm quoted an overall faster performance of around 20 – 25% compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. An Adreno 616 GPU with 500MHz is responsible for graphics.
There are two versions: one with 4 GB of RAM and a version with 6 GB of RAM. Both have an internal storage of 64GB or 128GB. The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE features a dual camera on the rear. The two sensors persist of 12-megapixel Sensor and a secondary 5MP Sensor. The camera is taking amazing pictures and high-definition videos with up to 4K (30fps) and supports a wide range of AI functions.
On the front is a selfie shooter with 20 MP. The front camera also features artificial intelligent features like AI Bokeh or AI Intelligent Beauty 4.0. The dual SIM phone sports a large 3,120mAh battery. The mobile is charged via USB-C port and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 (18W). Dual band Wi-Fi, WiFi 2×2 MIMO, WiFi Display and Bluetooth 5.0. For navigation GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo are available. Sensors on board the Mi8 SE included electronic compass, gyroscope, infrared and fingerprint. The Xiaomi Mi8 SE runs out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo, overlaid with MIUI 10 skin.
